Overview
An upset of top-seeded Oakland in the Mid-Con tournament final propelled the Golden Eagles into the NCAA Tournament. They soar into the Big Dance with the top-rated defense in the conference, allowing a stingy 59 points a game. Junior guard Krista Ragan took home tournament MVP honors for the second time in her career and is a three time all conference selection. Senior Dana Whittaker waited until the Mid-Con championship game to record her first double-double of the season (11 points, career-high 11 rebounds) to help her team get the automatic bid.

Player to Watch
Junior Krista Ragan became the first two-time recipient of the Mid-Con tournament Most Valuable Player award. She has been named to the All Mid-Con first team three straight years. After 37 points in the tournament this season, Ragan has 1,495 in her Mid-Con tourney career, which ranks fifth all-time and is just four points shy of moving into fourth place.
