Overview
 It's all a matter of timing for the Lady Govs. Austin Peay got blasted twice in the regular season by Tennessee Tech. But when the automatic bid was on the line in the Ohio Valley tournament, Austin Peay got the job done, shocking Tech in the final. Sophomore Brooke Armistead won tournament MVP honors with big assists from Jocelyn Duke and Paige Smith.
Player to Watch
In the final week of the OVC regular season, Brooke Armistead poured in 61 points and broke her own single-season scoring record. In a win over UT-Martin, the sophomore forward shot 68.8 percent from the field, including 75 percent from 3-point range (6-for-8) in a 33-point effort. She followed that with a 28-point performance. As a rookie, she scored 608 points, but already has topped that this season.

The third time proved to be the charm for the Lady Govs, who advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996. After losing to Tennessee Tech twice during the regular season -- by a combined 56 points (102-69 on Feb. 15 and 87-64 on Jan. 18) -- Austin Peay upset Tech 65-63 in the Ohio Valley tournament final.
