Overview
A balanced attack has the Lady Lions back in the NCAA Tournament looking to repeat last season's trip to the Final Four. Freshman of the Year candidate Kelly Mazzante led the Big Ten in scoring (18.6) and in 3-pointers (64 made). If senior sharpshooter Lisa Shepherd heats up, they will be tough to defend on the perimeter and on the fast break. Inside are All-Big Ten forward Maren Walseth and shot-blocker Rashana Barnes. They both have good moves around the basket and get on the glass ... particularly at the offensive end. Freshmen Jessica Brungo and Courtney Upshaw give Coach Rene Portland quality play off the bench.

Player to Watch
In averaging 18.6 points in Big Ten play, Kelly Mazzante became the only freshman in Big Ten history to lead the conference in scoring. In her 28-game career, Mazzante has set several Penn State records, including the most points ever in a game by a freshman (38 vs. Illinois). She also set the season record for most points by a freshman.
