Overview
Defense is so good in the Big East that the Wildcats held opponents to just 57 points per game -- and that only ranked as fourth best. Regardless, coach Harry Paretta's teams are always fundamentally sound and take good care of the ball. Villanova, which ranks 10th in the latest RPI, also is using the 3-pointer to its advantage, drilling an average of seven per game, which ranks among the top 10 in the country. Trish Juhline is the top threat, most often taking a pass from senior point Mimi Riley. Senior center Brandi Barnes was an All-Big East third team selection.

Player to Watch
Trish Juhline, a 5-foot-10 sophomore guard, averages 11 points a game, but it's her 3-point shooting that is most impressive. Through 29 games, Juhline is 69-for-176 (39.2 percent) from beyond the arc.

Notable Numbers
With a win on Feb. 24, coach Harry Perretta became the all-time winningest coach in the history of Villanova basketball for both men and women, surpassing Al Severance (413-201), who coached the Wildcat men from 1936-61.
