Overview
The Commodores sent notice they are a team to be reckoned with by beating Tennessee in the SEC tournament semifinals, and a close loss to Georgia in the championship game only heightened expectations for the NCAA Tournament. All-SEC center Chantelle Anderson averages 21 points per game. Zuzi Klimesova is another good scorer and rebounder while Jillian Danker is a 3-point threat. Point guard Ashley McElhiney had a huge SEC tournament and has the leadership skills to take Vandy deep into March.

Player to Watch
Chantelle Anderson, a 6-foot-6 sophomore center who received All-SEC honors from conference coaches and the Associated Press, leads the nation with a 73.1 field-goal percentage. She's 255-for-349 in 30 games.

Notable Numbers
Vandy scored big wins over SEC rivals Tennessee and Georgia within the past three weeks. On Feb. 25, the Commodores upset then-No. 4 Georgia 71-65 for their first victory over the Lady Bulldogs since the 1998-99 season. Then, on March 3, Vandy's 77-74 win over then-No. 1 Tennessee in the SEC semifinals ended the Commodores' 14-game losing streak against the Lady Vols, dating back to the 1995 SEC tournament final. Against Georgia, Chantelle Anderson set a new single-season record for most points in a season, bypassing Aljeanette Bramlett, who had 547 in 1981-1982.
