Overview
What a way to start the Kim Mulkey-Robertson era in Waco. The new head coach led the Lady Bears to a 20-win season for just the second time in the 19-year history of the progam. Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Sheila Lambert, a dangerous player who had a successful junior-college career at Seward County, led the league in scoring and was third in assists. Forward Danielle Crockrom averaged a double-double while leading the conference in rebounding. Together, the terrific twosome can do a lot of damage. The Lady Bears generate offense from a lot of steals and second chances.

Player to Watch
Sheila Lambert can do it all. The 5-foot-7 junior guard led the Big 12 in scoring with 22.3 points a game and averaged nearly six assists and six rebounds.

Notable Numbers
Kim Mulkey-Robertson, in her first season as a head coach after 15 seasons as an assistant at Louisiana Tech, guided the Lady Bears to a 21-8 record, remarkable considering Baylor was 7-20 last season. It's the best turnaround in NCAA Division I women's college basketball this season.
