Old Dominion Lady Monarchs
Road to the Final Four.............................................................................................
Overview The Lady Monarchs had their conference winning streak snapped at 113 games. But that didn't stop them from grabbing the conference championship and an automatic bid. Senior forward Hamchetou Maiga has picked up the slack due to the loss of center Lucienne Berthieau to an early-season knee injury. Perimeter scorers Okeisha Howard and Sharron Francis help carry the load. The defense has limited opponents to about 60 points per game. However, the Lady Monarchs had problems outside of conference play this season, losing big to Connecticut, Tennessee, Virginia and Rutgers.Player to WatchThe CAA player of the year, Hamchetou Maiga, shot 57.8 percent from the field. She ranked fifth in the conference in scoring with 14.1 ppg, fourth in rebounding with 7.6 per game and fifth in steals with 2.2. Roster NO.
