Duke the favorite in ACC

For the third time in the past four years, Duke was picked to win the ACC Championship at the ACC Media Day, held Sunday in Greensboro, N.C.

Duke received 36 of 42 first-place votes on its way to 372 total votes by the media. Following the Blue Devils are North Carolina (297), N.C. State (273), Maryland (246), Clemson (213), Florida State (198), Georgia Tech (120), Virginia (117) and Wake Forest (54).

The preseason All-Conference team was picked with Duke sophomore Alana Beard (Shreveport, La.) leading the way. Beard also was named preseason ACC Player of the Year

North Carolina's Coretta Brown and Nikki Teasley, along with Clemson's Chrissy Floyd and N.C. State's Carisse Moody filled out the five-member squad.

UNC's Leah Metcalf was selected Rookie of the Year.
