Brown scores game-high 28 points

DOTHAN, Ala. -- Kristy Brown scored a game-high 28 points to lead Stetson to an 88-62 victory over Georgia State in the Atlantic Sun Conference title game Saturday.

Nefertiti Walker added 24 points for Stetson (17-13), which earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. Janene Maclin had 10 points and Brown had a game-high seven rebounds.

Stetson grabbed the lead 17 seconds into the game on a layup by Maclin and never trailed. The Hatters led 46-31 at the half and by as many as 30 points twice in the second half.

Patechia Hartman led the Lady Panthers (16-14) with 16 points. Monica Thomas added 15 and Kelcey Roegiers-Jensen had 14.

The Hatters shot 62.5 percent from the field and the Panthers shot 41.4 percent.
