Volunteers' Parker picks up fourth career dunk

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee's Candace Parker had her fourth career dunk Friday night in the Volunteers' 77-60 win over No. 11 Stanford.

Parker got a steal near midcourt and ran toward the other side at the open basket. She raised the ball in her right hand and dunked it with 10:55 remaining in the first half.

Parker dunked in the fourth-ranked Lady Vols' season opener against Chattanooga, the first dunk at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Parker made history in last year's NCAA Tournament by dunking twice against Army in the first round.

Parker is the fifth woman to dunk in a college game, joining former Tennessee player Michelle Snow, Houston's Sancho Lyttle, North Carolina's Charlotte Smith and West Virginia's Georgeann Wells. Snow dunked three times, but never in Thompson-Boling Arena.
