Big East teams own the top two spots in the newest ESPN/USA Today women's college basketball coaches' poll released Tuesday.
Connecticut is a unanimous No. 1, receiving all 31 first-place votes, followed by Rutgers, which rose to No. 2 from No. 3.
The Huskies survived a scare before pulling away from Georgia Tech on Sunday to remain the top choice in the poll. UConn is also No. 1 in The Associated Press poll, which was released Monday.
Stanford, last week's No. 2-ranked team, lost at Baylor on Sunday and tumbled to No. 8.
North Carolina rose one spot to No. 3, while Oklahoma is up three spots to No. 4.
No. 5 is Duke, which rose three spots from eighth. Last week's fifth-ranked team, Maryland, was shocked by TCU on Friday and fell to No. 16.
Spots six through 10 are occupied by California, Texas A&M, the aformentioned Cardinal, Baylor and Louisville.
Tennessee, which was sixth last week, dropped seven spots to 13th after losing at home to No. 11 Virginia on Monday night.
Xavier (No. 22) and Iowa State (tied for No. 24) are newly ranked. LSU and Pittsburgh dropped out of the rankings.
