NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma guard Whitney Hand has undergone surgery on a broken left index finger and will miss four weeks.
Oklahoma coach Sherri Coale said the freshman from Fort Worth, Texas, traveled with the second-ranked Sooners for their game Monday night at Texas A&M.
The preseason Big 12 Conference freshman of the year dislocated and fractured the finger on her non-shooting hand in the second half of Oklahoma's win over Baylor on Saturday. She left the court briefly before returning to the game.
Hand is averaging 9.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game and leads the Sooners with 47 3-pointers.
After Monday, Oklahoma will have three regular-season games remaining, followed by the Big 12 tournament in Oklahoma City from March 12-15.
If she misses four weeks, Hand could return to the lineup for the Sooners' NCAA tournament opener.
