Temple trounces Michigan in season opener, 65-48

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Khadija Bowens had 14 points and five
rebounds to help No. 21 Temple open the season with a 65-48 victory
over Michigan on Friday night in the Women's Sports Foundation

Candice Dupree added scored 10 points and nine rebounds for
Temple, which will play Oregon in the title game Saturday night.
Oregon beat St. Francis of Pennsylvania 80-30.

Freshman point guarded Jessica Minnfield scored 15 points,
including three 3-pointers in her Michigan debut.

Temple led 31-16 at halftime.

Michigan pulled within eight points with four minutes left in
the second half on Carly Benson's driving layup. Temple had a
three-point play the next possession and led by at least 10 points
the rest of the game.
