FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Abbie Letz scored 22 points and
grabbed 10 rebounds to lead New Mexico (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) to a 73-57 victory
Saturday over Colorado State in a Mountain West Conference game.
Dionne Marsh scored 15 of her 16 points in the second half, and
Katie Montgomery added 15 points for the Lobos (12-3, 2-0 MWC).
Jana Francis had 10 points and 11 rebounds for her first career
New Mexico led by as much as 19 in the second half as the Lobos
limited the Rams' shooting from behind the arc. Colorado State
(7-6, 1-1), which had led the conference with 40 percent 3-point
shooting, was just 2-for-13 on Saturday.
Colorado State led 13-3 early as New Mexico missed 9 of 10 field
goals, but the Lobos went on a 12-0 run to lead 15-13.
Melissa Dennett scored 15 points to lead the Rams. Molly Nohr
and Lindsay Thomas both added 12, and Vanessa Espinoza had 11.
