WASHINGTON (AP) -- Angel McCoughtry had 24 points, 14 rebounds and a game-saving block to lead Louisville (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today; No. 13 AP) over Georgetown 57-54 on Tuesday night.
The Cardinals (17-1, 3-1 Big East) led by three with 14 seconds left, but a lane violation gave the Hoyas (11-6, 1-3) a chance to tie it. But McCoughtry swatted away Kieraah Marlow's 3-pointer to seal the win.
McCoughtry scored 17 points in the first half, 15 on 3-pointers, as the Cardinals led by as many as 14. But the Hoyas went in front 46-45 in the second half when Aminata Diop scored with 8:25 left.
Diop then made two free throws before Yuliya Tokova hit two jumpers to give Louisville the lead again.
Jazz Covington added 10 points and Tokova scored eight for the Cardinals.
Marlow scored 21 points and Katrina Wheeler had 11 rebounds for Georgetown.
