Red Foxes advance to face Iona in title game Sunday

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Rachele Fitz had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Marist (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 24 AP) to a 78-67 victory over St. Peter's in the semifinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament Saturday.

The top-seeded Red Foxes (30-2) will play second-seeded Iona, which reached the title game with a 74-69 win against Fairfield, in Sunday's championship game.

Fifth-seeded St. Peter's (19-12) lost to Marist for the third time in 11 days.

Nikki Flores had 14 points and Julianne Viani finished with 12 for Marist, which led 39-35 at halftime.

Lauma Reke scored 16 points, Johnell Burts had 14 and Ali Alena 13 for the Peahens.
