Editor's note: Ball State's Tamara Bowie, the Cardinals' career scoring leader who earned a record-11 Mid-American player-of-the-week honors over her career, is sharing a diary with ESPN.com for the third consecutive season. March 5, 2003
It has been a wonderful year. This one is the one I will probably remember the most. A lot of things happen in your senior year. You really learn who you are and what type of person you want to become. You learn who your real friends are and those people that really care about you. It is kind of a sad moment. Then again, it is a joyous moment as you leave a place that was home to begin a new chapter in your life. I would like to thank my teammates for this great year. As much as they say they are going to miss me, I am going to miss them, too. This is by far one of the best teams I have played on and it is not only because of our basketball accomplishments. I enjoyed each individual's personality rather than feeling like I had to deal with attitudes. I am a pretty laid-back type of person and it does take a lot to get under my skin. I have played on teams where I have allowed a person to get on my nerves, but that was not the case this year. THANKS, TEAM!!!!! Senior Day was Sunday. It was a nice day until about 6:30 p.m., when the buzzer sounded and the scoreboard showed Eastern Michigan had defeated us 68-64. It was a heartbreaker, but it happens sometimes. My favorite saying is, "We fall down, but we must get back up!" Like always, it has been real chatting with you all. Holla!!
