Gail Goestenkors cutout
Will the real Coach G please stand up? Duke opponents should take heed when the Gail Goestenkors cardboard cutout is brought out.
Hey, everyone! Recently I have been walking around with a permanent smile on my face because not only has my favorite time of the year finally arrived (NCAA Tournament time!), but also I just accepted a job with the U.S. Golf Association in Colorado Springs! I'll give you some of the exciting details of the past two weeks.

The ACC tournament was awesome once again, as we captured our fourth ACC tournament championship! It was great to see everyone come out and support us, and there was no better feeling than to beat UNC for the championship! The Coach G cardboard cutout made an appearance on the floor after the game in order to help us cut down the nets! It was hilarious and the media loved it. I think she has officially replaced Homey as the new team mascot. I know she will be making every road trip from here on out! I think the new name should be "Mini G" ... if you are heading to Raleigh for our first two rounds, make sure you look for her -- I'm sure Mini G will make another special appearance!

When we got back from the ACC tournament, Coach G gave us the next two days off from practice, which worked out perfectly for me since I had to fly to Colorado for two days of interviewing with the USGA. Needless to say, I was exhausted but I had a great time meeting everyone and Colorado Springs is absolutely beautiful! It's so much different than the East Coast, but I love it! We had three really tough days of practice after I got back and then we had the day off on Selection Sunday.

Selection Sunday was interesting because ESPN was there to film us. Monique (Currie) was hilarious because she wanted to be on TV so badly. There was about a 10-second delay between real time and what was shown on TV, and whenever we moved or clapped it wouldn't show for another 10 seconds. So Monique kept trying to bend down to be on the camera but she thought nothing was happening on the screen. Then 10 seconds later you see Mo bend down and just start laughing!

I was trying to hold in my laughter while Coach G and Alana were being interviewed, but Vicki wasn't really doing a good job. So all you saw was Mo bending down and then Vick and Mo start giggling in the background! It was so funny, but I can't imagine what the people who were watching us thought! Probably that we were a bunch of idiots! Ha ha!

Anyway, that night the USGA called me to offer me a position with them and I was in shock! It ended up being one of the best days ever! Since then I have been on a natural high because I'm so ready to start the tournament and it's nice knowing that I don't have to worry about finding a job anymore!

Look for our clips from the ESPN camera as the tournament starts ... they should be entertaining! I'll keep you updated on team news once the tourney starts!

GO DUKE!!!
