(Editor's note: Duke's Caitlin Howe, a freshman guard, will share a diary with ESPN.com throughout the season.)

| | | Howe | Classes have started again here at Duke after Christmas break. It is so hard to go back to class when you have become accustomed to going to practice, working out, and then just chilling -- I loved it. Even though I did not have class over the four-week break, I learned ...
Duke doesn't joke around about freshman moving out of the dorms on time -- signs were posted that the police would escort you out if you are not gone by 12 o'clock on the specified date -- I made sure I was long gone.
A few new games thanks to Alana Beard. She taught me dominoes (I learned how to hold them ghetto style) and Jenga. I recommend that you check out both.
That college students are obsessed with PlayStation2.
How to grease Alana's and Iciss' hair.
That Sheana Mosch knows way too much about the Disney Channel.
That Charter flights have the best food.
That the Duke campus is fun even if most of the students are at home (and there are a lot more parking spots!).
The way to get to Alana Beard is to steal her bear and hold it for ransom -- way to go, Coach G!
That Brooke Smith doesn't know how to push elevator buttons. (While in Atlanta, we stayed at a hotel with 48 floors. Some people got off the elevator on the second floor and we had to go to the first, so Brooke tried to push the button while we were on the second floor. Apparently, "it didn't work" so we took a trip back up to the 40th floor.)
That ACC play is fiercely competitive and extremely physical.
That Mistie Bass has a shoe fetish and I'm envious that her mother supports her habit. (Note to Lise (my mom): I wouldn't mind if you sent me a few pairs of shoes -- I neeeed them.)
That Vicki Krapohl has no food in her apartment but she is a very gracious hostess.
Most importantly, I learned that the Duke women's basketball team is comprised of 12 talented, fun, and kind people.
Today was a big day for me. I played in practice!!! This was my first practice since my knee started bothering me in November. I loved just being out there.
