Coming together

(Editor's note: Texas Tech senior forward Plenette Pierson, a former Big 12 Freshman of the Year, will share a weekly diary with ESPN.com throughout the season.)

WOW!!!!!!!! That is the only word to explain my feelings about the last three games. The team has really come together and worked hard to win BIG.

I really enjoyed playing Rice. My family and hometown friends were able to attend the game and this made the experience much more memorable. This was the last chance I had to play college basketball in front of my hometown. I was especially honored to play a good game in front of my mom, considering she doesn't get a chance to come to Lubbock to see me play much.

Traveling so much during the holidays has been a trying experience for the team, but I think we have all have gotten to know each other better on a different level and this too will help us jell as a team. We are learning more about each other on and off the court. The many plane rides seem to be getting old and definitely uncomfortable for someone my height.

It was so nice to finally be back home in front of our Lady Raider fans. The Rutgers game had an astonishing 13,859 fans. This really helps to motivate us to play our best.

I thought my game was great against Rutgers. I tied my career high in points (31) and set a new career high in rebounds (17). The Rutgers game was tough and very physical, but I think this type of play just motivates us as a team and gets us ready for Big 12 play.

The Pacific game was also a good experience to get us ready for some of the more talented teams in our conference.

We are now off to Texas A&M to try and get the "W" on the road. This game will be our first conference game and we hope to play our best and win.

We will be back home on Saturday for a game against Baylor and the 10-year reunion for the national championship team.

Winning the Big 12 Player of the Week was also an honor, and I was proud to share the spotlight with freshman Erin Grant and her Rookie of the Week award. I think these honors say a lot for our team and our ability to win this season.

That's all for now. Talk to you soon after the Baylor game.
