Are you ready?

(Editor's note: Purdue junior Shereka Wright, a 5-foot-10 forward and All-Big Ten first-team pick, will share a weekly diary with ESPN.com throughout the season.)

When it gets closer and closer to tournament time, I try to reflect on some things that I have done well and that my team has done well. I think it's very important to do that because as conference play comes to a end, teams have to be able to produce and give it all that they have.

Every team in the NCAA has one goal, and that is to get to Atlanta and win it all. I know that is our team's goal. Yes, there are other goals we want to accomplish before we even look at that, such as winning the Big Ten.

Coach Curry gave the team a scenario about the Big Ten right now. All the teams in the Big Ten are on a van. Penn State is in the driver's seat, we are in the back seat, and Michigan State and Ohio State are in the trailer. There couldn't be a better analogy. These next six games are very important, and there can't be any letdowns. The team that respects its opponent, plays with composure on the road, understands game plans, and is ready to play every night will win the Big Ten.

Our coaches are doing their jobs to prepare us for the games, but we have to go out and play. As for individuals, everybody on this team has to step up and give a little more than what they have. I know I need to take my game to a whole other level. This might mean having more intensity on defense, wanting to get a rebound, willing to take shots and leading by example and being vocal.

This is my game plan, as well as the team's game plan. Everybody is beginning to work harder in practice to make themselves better for the team. March Madness is awaiting. ARE YOU READY?!

This is off the original topic, but I'd like to give a shout to the managers (especially Grant), and the trainers -- you are GREAT!
