NEW YORK -- The Miami Marlins have activated outfielder Giancarlo Stanton from the 15-day disabled list and have put him into the starting lineup Tuesday night against the New York Mets.

Infielder Donnie Murphy went on the 15-day DL with a strained left hamstring. The move was retroactive to Saturday.

Stanton was picked for the NL All-Star team, but was out because of surgery on his right knee. He's been sidelined almost a month and still leads the Marlins with 19 home runs and 50 RBIs.

Stanton was batting fifth and playing right field in his return. Manager Ozzie Guillen said he didn't want to rush Stanton, and anticipated batting him third once he got comfortable.

Murphy was hitting .194 with three homers and eight RBIs.
