Brook Lopez (ankle) out vs. Bobcats

Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez will miss his third straight game Wednesday night, against the Charlotte Bobcats, because of a sprained left ankle, the team announced.

Lopez suffered the injury when he got tangled up with teammate Kevin Garnett in Saturday night's game against the Phoenix Suns.

In eight games, Lopez is averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks. The 25-year-old ranks fourth in the NBA in Player Efficiency Rating (27.77) and seventh in the league in field goal percentage (.574).

The Nets also announced that reserve forward Andrei Kirilenko will miss his sixth straight game because of back spasms.

Kirilenko said Tuesday that he thinks he might be three or four days away from being cleared for full-contract practice.

Reserve guard Jason Terry (bruised left knee), who is listed as a game-time decision, will play, according to Newsday.
