Tyson Chandler out of Monday game

NEW YORK -- Knicks center Tyson Chandler miss Monday night 's 123-110 win over the Philadelphia 76ers because of an urgent personal matter.

The Knicks made the announcement Monday afternoon. It was unclear when Chandler will be back with the team, but his absence is expected to be short-term.

The Knicks' next game is Wednesday at Boston.

New York (24-40) has won three straight and enters play Monday 3½ games behind Atlanta for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Chandler missed 20 games this season due to a fractured bone in his right leg and another four in January due to illness. The Knicks are 10-14 without him.
