NEWARK, N.J. -- New Jersey Nets center Mehmet Okur and small forward Damion James missed Saturday night's 101-90 loss against the Miami Heat.

Okur is day to day with back spasms, Avery Johnson said, but the Nets coach doesn't expect to have his veteran center back until sometime on the team's West Coast road trip, which begins on Jan. 11 in Denver. Okur's back, which has been a problem for him before, gave him problems on Friday night in Toronto and forced him to leave the game after just three minutes.

James is also day to day with a sore right foot. He underwent an MRI, which was negative, and will be evaluated by doctors Saturday.

Shooting guard Anthony Morrow started. Morrow underwent a partial root canal and will wear a mouth guard. He suffered the injury when he was banged into during the Raptors game.

Rookie shooting guard MarShon Brooks (ankle), who missed Friday night's game, played on Saturday.

Meanwhile, LeBron James was back in the starting lineup for the Heat, but Dwyane Wade missed his third straight game.
