Stevie Brown to re-sign with Giants

Stevie Brown will re-sign with the New York Giants, the veteran safety announced Tuesday on his Twitter page.

After stepping in for injured Kenny Phillips and recording eight interceptions in 2012, Brown was slated to be a starting safety for the Giants in 2013.

But he suffered a torn ACL in the 2013 preseason and missed the entire season.

Brown, who turns 27 in July, was a seventh-round pick by the Oakland Raiders in 2010 out of Michigan and played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2011 before joining the Giants in 2012. Giants reporter Dan Graziano contributed to this report.
