All three players were listed as questionable after Friday's practice, but Ryan said Holmes and Smith are "more questionable" than Harris.
"I don't know, you fill in the blanks," Ryan replied when asked to be more specific. "You saw them out there."
Harris, Holmes and Smith all were limited in practice Friday.
"We'll see," Holmes replied when asked on the Michael Kay Show if he was going to play. "I'm not going into it right now. ... We'll see what the doctors say on Sunday."
Holmes said he hurt himself while running in practice.
For Harris, it was the first time he practiced all week.
Harris, the Jets' second-leading tackler (seven) behind linebacker Bart Scott (eight), participated in position drills before working on the side with the team's strength and conditioning staff.
He had sat out Wednesday and Thursday's practices with a toe injury, which he suffered in Sunday's season-opening victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Ryan said Thursday he didn't believe Harris' toe was broken or that it was turf toe, but had something to do with the tendon.
"I'd expect him to be out at practice, probably limited tomorrow," Ryan said Thursday.
Holmes (knee/quadriceps) and Smith (sprained ankle) also were limited in practice Thursday. Both participated in position drills during the portion of practice open to the media.
"They looked good early in the week in practice, but right now they're questionable, so they did kind of get hurt in practice," Ryan said. "It wasn't a game thing I don't believe with either one of them. Eric just rolled his ankle."
"Nothing to worry about. Game day is on Sunday," Holmes said Thursday.
The Jets will be without wide receiver Logan Payne (wrist) and offensive lineman Rob Turner (leg) for a second consecutive week, Ryan said.
On Wednesday, the Jets promoted wide receiver Patrick Turner from the practice squad, perhaps as insurance policy should Holmes be unable to play.
At the time of Turner's promotion, Holmes was already dealing with a knee injury.
