INDIANAPOLIS -- Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and according to the pool report ran well in New York's first Super Bowl practice since landing in Indianapolis.

Bradshaw, who has a broken bone in his right foot, was a surprise participant. Coach Tom Coughlin had said earlier in the day Bradshaw would not practice.

Bradshaw's routine typically is to skip the first two days of practice before going through the third practice to rest his foot. But after having so many days off between the NFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl, Bradshaw, who practiced last Friday, did some work.

Coughlin said Bradshaw told trainer Ronnie Barnes he "wants to be a part of this" and wanted to be out at the first practice.

"I just hope he's OK tomorrow," said Coughlin.

Wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (shoulder), linebacker Jacquian Williams (foot), cornerback Corey Webster (hamstring) and defensive end Osi Umenyiora (ankle/knee) were also all limited in practice as expected. All are expected to play against New England on Sunday.

All were observed by a pool reporter in the regular part of practice at close to full speed, though their practice reps were less than a typical full load.

"This was a good, spirited, up-tempo practice," Coughlin said. "There are a few things we will clean up, obviously. We want to be better tomorrow and built to our best work on Friday."

It seemed the Giants were eager to get back out on the field. They were boisterous after the pre-practice stretch and ran from drill to drill during an 80-minute workout.

New York practiced in the practice bubble at the University of Indianapolis campus on the same FieldTurf surface that it will play on against New England on Sunday. The Division II football school is located seven miles south of the Giants' team hotel downtown.

The Giants will practice University of Indianapolis again Thursday and Friday and have a short walkthrough Saturday.
