EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Jets came into the Monday's game against the Texans with a depleted roster, and took another hit, as Pro Bowl center Nick Mangold left the third quarter with a right ankle injury but was able to return with the ankle wrapped.

It is the third straight week that the team has dealt with an injury to a key player. Two weeks ago, cornerback Darrelle Revis sustained an ACL tear, and last week, wide receiver Santonio Holmes suffered a season-ending foot injury.

Last season, Mangold missed two games with a high-ankle sprain, and the Jets lost those games to Oakland and Baltimore using then-rookie Colin Baxter as a fill in.

The Jets were down tight end Dustin Keller and rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill already, and wide receiver Clyde Gates left the game with a shoulder injury and was soon ruled out. The Jets lost 23-17.
