Chip Kelly is looking at a New York Giant to possibly run his defense.

Giants linebackers coach Jim Herrmann is interviewing for the Philadelphia Eagles' defensive coordinator position, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Herrmann completed his fourth season as linebackers coach for Tom Coughlin. Prior to that, he coached linebackers with the Jets from 2006-08. Before joining the NFL ranks, Herrmann also spent two decades on the University of Michigan coaching staff and served as defensive coordinator there from 1997-2005.

Kelly, who left Oregon to become the new Eagles coach this week, is looking to replace Todd Bowles. Bowles finished last season as the club's defensive coordinator but was released from his contract on Friday.
