PITTSBURGH -- New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was assessed a $5,000 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct, the league announced.

Lundqvist was caught on camera dumping a water bottle on Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby when Crosby was down on the ice in the middle of a heated skirmish at the end of the second period.

Boston Bruins enforcer Shawn Thornton was also fined for a similar incident, when he squirted Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban with a water bottle on Saturday.
