New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur will back up Johan Hedberg on Tuesday night against the New York Rangers, returning after missing 12 games with a back injury.

Brodeur skated Tuesday morning with the team at Newark's Prudential Center, after which he told reporters, "I'll be OK," to back up Hedberg.

The 40-year-old netminder, who reportedly suffered a pinched nerve, is eyeing Thursday's match against the Carolina Hurricanes to make his first start.

Hedberg will make his 13th straight start Tuesday.
