Melrose High School MVP Program Guidelines


New York AM Radio LLC, ESPN New York 98.7FM (WEPN-FM) & Melrose Credit Union.


Nominee must be a qualified High School student athlete currently in their Senior year and living in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ & CT).

Nominators must be 18+ years old and a US resident.

Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for (WEPN-FM), New York AM Radio, LLC. Melrose Credit Union., any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest or supplying the prize, and their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or play. "Immediate family members" shall mean parents, step-parents, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. "Household members" shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months a year.

Person submitting nomination can submit nominations for more than one candidate. Nominator must complete the questionnaire providing information about the candidate and his or her qualifications.

Nomination window is open from August 27, 2012 - December 31, 2012.

Sponsor is not responsible for inability of listeners to complete entry within specified time period, whether due to computer malfunctions or other circumstances.


Nominees are evaluated base on the following Criteria.
• Outstanding Academic Record, Excellence in Athletics and Community Contributions

ESPN New York at its sole discretion will evaluate each nominee based on the above criteria to select five (5) finalists to be considered for the $5,000 prize courtesy of Melrose Credit Union.

This group of finalists will consist of 4 MVP Finalists and 1 Wild Card Finalist. The 4 MVP Finalists will be selected Once Per Month September - December. A Fifth Finalist will be selected from a group of 12 Runner Ups. It is the responsibility of each Finalist to provide proof of academics, athletics and community contributions/involvement no later than January 20th 2013. If any Finalist cannot meet this requirement by the January 20th date, Finalist will be disqualified and a replacement finalist will be selected from the Runner Up pool. Replacement Finalist will have two weeks to provide proof of accomplishments outlined above. Melrose Credit Union will then evaluate the 5 finalists at its sole discretion based on the same criteria to select the $5,000 Winner.

The winner will be announced and presented with a check at a Luncheon Event on or around March 10th , 2013 in New York City.


One (1) Winner will receive a $5,000 payment towards their tuition. Prize is intended to be used by the recipient to assist in expenses associated with attending an accredited institution of higher learning including but not limited to a trade school, college or university.

Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any monetary award valued at $600 or more.


By participating, nominators agree to be bound by these official guidelines and the decisions of the Sponsor/Judges and the contest administrator, which shall be final in all respects.

Nominators authorize the Released Parties to use their name, voice, likeness, biographical data, city and state of residence and entry materials in programming or promotional material, in any media now known or hereafter created or conceived, worldwide in perpetuity, or on a winner's list, if applicable, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Sponsor is not obligated to use any of the above mentioned information or materials, but may do so and may edit such information or materials, at Sponsor's sole discretion, without further obligation or compensation.
