NHL, officials reach four-year agreement

NEW YORK -- The NHL and its referees and linesmen reached a
tentative four-year collective bargaining agreement Thursday.

The NHL canceled a training camp for replacement officials that
had been scheduled to begin Friday in Troy, Mich.

The agreement is subject to the ratification of both the
league's board of governors and the NHL Officials' Association.

The NHL board will meet Sept. 6 in Chicago and the Officials'
Association will meet in Fort Erie, Ontario, on Sept 7.

The old CBA was to expire Sept. 1.
