Riskaverse wins at Aqueduct

NEW YORK - Riskaverse charged to the lead in mid-stretch
and held on for a 1 1/4-length victory Sunday in the $86,700 Miss
Grillo Stakes at Aqueduct.

Lujien Lujien, the favorite in the field of 12, finished second.
Kathy K D was another three-quarters of a length back in third in
the race for 2-year-old fillies.

Riskaverse, carrying 118 pounds and ridden by Robbie Davis,
covered 1 1/8 miles in 1:51 on the firm turf.

Riskaverse broke her maiden on grass, going six furlongs at
Belmont Park on July 13. In three subsequent starts on dirt she won
once. Most recently, she finished third behind You in the Grade I
The winner earned $50,820 for Fox Ridge Farm and returned $8
$3.40 and $2.20. Lujien Lujien paid $2.40 and $2.10 and Kathy K D
showed at $2.60.
