They learned a lot from Parcells, who learned a lot from his mentor, Mickey Corcoran, his old HS basketball coach. Sadly, Corcoran died Sunday at the age of 93. In his Hall-of-Fame speech in '13, Parcells called Corcoran "a second father to me." Corcoran played HS basketball in NJ for Vince Lombardi, creating a Lombardi-Parcells link. The branches on that coaching tree will reach to Sunday's game.

Bills coach Rex Ryan addressed his defensive-line need by raiding his old team's practice squad, signing Jets NT T.J. Barnes. He appeared in six games for the Jets, playing in 32 defensive snaps. They cut him Nov. 13 and stashed him on the practice squad.
