Watch: Yankees at Red Sox on ESPN

New York turns to Nathan Eovaldi, who took a no-hit bid into the 7th inning in his last start, in an attempt to avoid being swept by Boston and falling to 8-15 on the season. Live on ESPN, WatchESPN

The Red Sox have never beaten Nathan Eovaldi, tonight's Yankees starter, in three career starts. Eovaldi, who threw 7 shutout innings against the Rangers in Texas last Monday, has also won both his starts at Fenway, with 3.86 ERA. Dustin Pedroia and Hanley Ramirez have homered off him and David Ortiz has three singles in six at-bats.

The Yankees are trying to avoid a sweep at the hands of David Price and the Red Sox tonight and Joe Girardi has shaken up his lineup a tad. Alex Rodriguez moves back up to 3rd in the batting order, Aaron Hicks and Ronald Torreyes get to start and Chase (.150) Headley bats sixth tonight. Why, you ask? He's hitting .421 against Price (8-for-19).

Pence takes Syndergaard deep to right field (0:21)

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Hunter Pence hits a two-run homer out to right field, the first in 2016 off Noah Syndergaard, to give the Giants a 3-0 lead, but it was Bruce Bochy's decision the batter before that set it up. With one out and a full count, he ran the very slow Buster Posey, and thus avoided an inning-ending double play when Brandon Belt hit a hard one-hopper to second base. Syndergaard's inability to hold runners hurts him there. Bochy 3, Mets 0.

Jets took a chance, but Kiper likes class

Mel Kiper Jr. doesn't think taking Christian Hackenberg in the second round was that much of a reach for the Jets. Kiper was impressed with some of New York's other choices. NFL draft grades (Insider)

Jeremy Lin will probably never play for the Knicks again. But if the soon-to-be free agent signed with New York this summer, it would bring an added layer of attention to a club that already garners plenty of it. Is that a good thing? Landry Fields, Lin's close friend, weighs in: "If Jeremy comes back, great. I love Jeremy, I want him to succeed in whatever he does. For New York, I'm not sure that's the best fit. Simply because of the distractions," Fields told The Knicks Blog Podcast with Anthony Donahue and Moke Hamilton. "The media, being in the broadcasting world, I've see that people love to put a microscope on the Knicks, no matter how good or how bad they are. It's just that there's drama there, so this is what's going to sell and entertain fans."

Ian Begley ESPN Staff Writer

Here's Landry Fields on one of the few bright spots for the Knicks lately: "I love Carmelo now because of his shift in leadership mentality," Fields told The Knicks Blog Podcast with Anthony Donahue and Moke Hamilton. "When he first came to the Knicks there, wasn't much of a leadership role for him… but this past season and the one before it, we see kind of a new Melo, one who has really stepped into a leadership which us going to be crucial going forward. It's awesome to see, because I think he's really embracing that role."

Despite a massive push to reform their defense through free agency, the Giants still had to address plenty of defensive needs in the draft. What grade did Mel Kiper Jr. give New York for its efforts? NFL draft grades (Insider)
