The Islanders posted a 25-11-5 record on home ice during the regular season and a 2-1 mark already in the playoffs. With Game 3 of their second-round series against the Lightning Tuesday night at Barclays Center, New York is expected a great atmosphere. "The energy is going to be off the charts in this building like it has been the first three games of the playoffs," said Islanders' Kyle Okposo. "We're looking forward to it. You've just got to use that energy in a positive way and you can't be running around out of position, but at the same time you've got to be finishing your hits, playing with energy, playing with urgency and playing desperate out there."

For those on Carmelo Anthony Trade watch: Doc Rivers told reporters Monday that he will not trade Blake Griffin, regardless of any offers that may arise. Griffin-for-Carmelo is one of the most frequently discussed scenarios when a potential Carmelo trade is brought up. Anthony, of course, has a no-trade clause in his contract, which has 3 years remaining.

Larry Bird told the Indianapolis Star that he's unsure if Frank Vogel will return next season. If Vogel is fired, could he be a candidate for the Knicks? It's worth noting that Vogel was an advanced scout for Phil Jackson's Lakers in 2005-06. Here's Vogel heaping praise on Jackson in a 2013 interview: "From the standpoint of studying the NBA game, I was always a big fan of Phil Jackson and his approach," Vogel told Nuvo. "Obviously he had great players, but there were a lot of coaches with great players that didn't win at the level he did. That was a big reason why I hired [Pacers associate head coach] Brian Shaw. He was as close to Phil as anyone could be and I thought I could rely on that experience and it's been awesome."

Even after drafting Eli Apple in the first round, the Giants still could use depth at cornerback. And former Bengal Leon Hall, a veteran who can play the nickel position, could offer them that. Fox reports that Hall is visiting the Giants on Tuesday. My understand is that Hall has visited several teams this offseason, and that the big concerns about him are on the medical end of it – particularly a back injury that gave him trouble late last year. If he checks out physically and the Giants' doctors clear him, he makes sense as a signing for them. But don't be surprised if it takes a while.
