An MRI on Mark Teixeira's neck did not show any new issues. Yankees manager Joe Girardi indicated that Teixeira could have cortisone shots for the spasms. Teixeira is expected to miss a few games, but Girardi indicated that he didn't anticipate a DL stint yet. Teixeira missed tonight's loss to the Blue Jays.

Greg Bird, the Yankees top first base prospect, is out for the year after shoulder surgery.
