For the second straight game, the Yankees barely had any offense. Just like on Sunday, they only scored two runs on a home run. Unlike Sunday, the Yankees lost, 4-2, to the Blue Jays.

James Loney is set to be activated Tuesday by the Mets. He told reporters on Monday at Citi Field: "To come to this team, you can just tell the energy here is great, the vibe. And to be defending NL champs is big. I've always felt like you want to win and want to be in the right situation. And I feel this is the right situation." Loney is expected to platoon at first base, facing right-handed pitching. Lucas Duda may miss two months with a stress fracture in his lower back.

Here's how Matt Harvey explained his weeklong media boycott upon breaking his silence Monday: "I was frustrated with myself. I know it wasn't right and it wasn't acceptable. I let my emotions get the best of me." Harvey made the comment after tossing seven scoreless innings in a 1-0 win against the White Sox at Citi Field.

Seton Hall's Isaiah Whitehead will work out for the Knicks on June 4, league sources confirm. The Knicks don't currently have a pick but plan to acquire one, targeting an early second-rounder. Whitehead, a New York native, starred at Coney Island's Lincoln High School as a teen, which is the same high school that produced Lance Stephenson and Stephon Marbury. The Whitehead workout was first reported by Basketball Insiders.

Mets' Harvey knows one gem doesn't fix problems

Matt Harvey easily had his best outing of the season, tossing seven scoreless, two-hit innings against the White Sox. However, he won't declare his struggles a thing of the past just yet.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi compared Luis Severino to Roy Haladay. Severino, 22, was sent to Triple-A on Monday after beginning the year at 0-6 with a 7.46 ERA. "This is not unusual," Girardi said. "This is not abnormal. I'll bring up a name right here we saw -- Roy Halladay. He got sent back down because he struggled. He figured it out and was pretty darn good. This is not unusual. This is part of the process young players."

Dustin Ackley has a torn labrum, according to Yankees manager Joe Girardi. Surgery is a possibility, which would likely finish the reserve first baseman for the season. At the moment, the Yankees will have backup catcher Austin Romine act as the main backup to Mark Teixeira at first.

Alex Rodriguez is out of the lineup against Blue Jays righty Marco Estrada. Carlos Beltran is starting at DH, while Aaron Hicks is in right. A-Rod is 1-for-16 since he returned from the DL. The one hit was a homer. He is hitting .170 in 88 at-bats this season. A-Rod started his first four games back after recovering from a hamstring injury.
