Carmelo Anthony plans to use the All Star break to rehab his sore left knee. He will have a daily routine in Toronto and will continue that routine in New York. The Knicks have nine days between games and Anthony hopes to significantly relieve the knee soreness in that span.

One turning point for this Knicks season was on Jan. 12, when Carmelo Anthony ran into a referee accidentally and sprained his ankle. He's missed five of 15 games since and the Knicks have done 3-12 in that span. They've fired their head coach, in part, because of the struggles in that stretch.

Yankees to honor Rivera with plaque

Mariano Rivera's No. 42 was already retired in 2013, after the number was retired throughout MLB in 1997 in honor of Jackie Robinson. So the Yankees will dedicate a plaque to the all-time saves leader at Monument Park on Aug. 14 before a game against the Rays.

Matt Barnes says Derek Fisher's firing "don't matter to me." The Grizzlies forward, who says the picture he posted on social media after the firing had nothing to do with Fisher, was serenaded to "Fisher" chants toward the end of Memphis' 109-90 win over Brooklyn. "I hear it every game," Barnes said. "Everyone has time to say (something) when they're protected and then they don't have the balls to say it to your face so all you can do is laugh."
