Here is scouting report on Gleyber Torres: Torres: Future All Star: Plus defender with good hitting instincts/advanced approach for age, improving offensive value....solid average hitter.....more power than people think 15-18 HR potential Great hand-eye coordination ..Avg runner but better underway, plus defender with plus arm. So when this Yankees, Cubs deal is completed today...this is what we'll know: 1. Cubs remain team to beat and favorite to win World Series as Chapman is a difference maker in post-season because of ability to shut down Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy of Nats and lefty lineup of Giants. 2. Yankees got Cubs best prospect not in big leagues and potential future all star. 3. Yankees got far more for Chapman and I mean far more than what they gave up to get him. The Yankees are 36-3 when leading after six innings this year. They were 66-3 last year, according to ESPN's Stats and Info's Megan O'Donnell. In other words, Aroldis Chapman has put on a show in the 9th, but he hasn't really made the Yankees better.

Sources: Yankees, Cubs talking Chapman deal

The Cubs and Yankees are in talks to send pitcher Aroldis Chapman to Chicago in exchange for top-rated prospect Gleyber Torres, according to multiple sources familiar with the discussions.

ESPN Stats & Info

Teixeira goes yard early

Mark Teixeira drove a 425-foot home run to straight-away center field at Yankee Stadium during the second inning against the Giants on Sunday. The homer was his longest since almost a year ago -- July 30, 2015.

Andrew Marchand ESPN Senior Writer

Gleyber Torres is a 19-year-old shortstop in the Cubs' system. He is hitting .275 with 9 homers and 47 RBIs at Single-A. He has a .791 OPS. Colleague Buster Olney reported the Yankees are high on him, making him a possible target in an Aroldis Chapman trade. If the Yankees were to make a deal for Torres, it would demonstrate their commitment to adding overall talent to the organization instead of just looking for certain positions since shortstop is a franchise strength led by Didi Gregorius.

Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman on trade talks: "There's a lot of rumors and stuff out there right now. I don't have any information but my agent did say they're talking to him, but that's all I have."
