The Yankees just turned a really slick 4-1-5 double play to end the eighth. Starlin Castro and Mark Teixeira both dove for a Ramiro Pena grounder in the 3-4 hole. Castro came up with it and fired to pitcher Chad Green covering first. Green then fired to third, and Chase Headley scooped the throw before applying a tag on Mac Williamson.

The idea of flipping closer Aroldis Chapman has been in play since the Yankees acquired him from the Reds at a discount price this winter due to his domestic violence/gun incident. GM Brian Cashman felt like the price point had dropped where it was too good to pass up. By Aug. 1 and perhaps much earlier, Chapman is expected to be an ex-Yankee and Cashman is in position to receive better prospects than the four middling ones he gave to the Reds.
