Eli Manning hurts ankle vs. Redskins

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning left Sunday's 20-6 win against the Washington Redskins with what was later diagnosed as a high ankle sprain and did not return to the game.

Backup Curtis Painter played the second half at quarterback for the Giants and was 2 of 8 passing for 11 yards and an interception.

Manning was wearing a walking boot after the game, and used crutches when leaving MetLife Stadium.
