KG gets veteran rest day from Nets

The Brooklyn Nets announced that Kevin Garnett will not play Friday night against the Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Garnett is getting a rest day. He played just 18 minutes in Thursday night's 103-89 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, but Nets coach Jason Kidd said after the game that the 37-year-old center "most likely" would not play against Detroit.

Andray Blatche will start in Garnett's place.
