Mary Cain, 17, wins Wanamaker Mile

NEW YORK -- Teen star Mary Cain won the Wanamaker Mile on Saturday in the Millrose Games.

The 17-year-old Cain, from Bronxville, finished in 4 minutes, 27.73 seconds at the Armory to beat second-place Treniere Moser by more than a second. Cain turned professional in November.

Cain was concerned about the quick early tempo set by Heather Kampf.
