Deron Williams gets ankle surgeries

NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams underwent successful surgery on both of his ankles Tuesday, the team announced.

Williams will be on crutches for four to six weeks and then begin to rehab, the team said. He is slated to begin light court activities in August and then progress to full basketball activities in September. Williams is expected to be fully recovered and ready for the beginning of training camp.
