Mats Zuccarello, Rangers agree

The New York Rangers avoided arbitration with Mats Zuccarello by agreeing to terms with the restricted free agent winger, the team announced Tuesday.

Zuccarello's contract is a one-year, $3.5 million deal, a source confirmed.

Zuccarello, 26, registered 19 goals and 40 assists in 77 games with the Rangers this past season. He had a career year, turning in highs in games played, goals, assists, points, plus/minus, power play goals and average ice time.
