Smith: NCAA can't truly take USC title

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith had one of his finest moments as a Trojan in the BCS National Championship game on Jan. 4, 2005.

Now, USC may have that national title stripped after the school was rocked by severe sanctions handed down by the NCAA on Thursday.

Though the BCS may force Southern California to vacate its national championship from that 2004 season, Smith says the NCAA and BCS can never truly take away a championship ...
