Mets may shut down Maine

NEW YORK -- New York Mets right-hander John Maine will be evaluated in New York early this week and is unlikely to continue with his rehab assignment in the minor leagues, general manager Omar Minaya said on Sunday.

"Most likely not," Minaya said about letting Maine make another minor league start. "First, let's evaluate him, and go from there."
